How do I book?
You need to book your childcare service with us, using the approved booking form.
Through the booking system, we can ensure that we maintain the staffing levels required by the Childcare Act 2002, and also ensure that we provide sufficient food and resources for your child.
To ensure that attendance is available, bookings must be received by the close of business (6.00 pm) five working days prior to the date of the booking. Please note that you must take care not to include weekends or public holiday days as part of the five days notice required for booking. You can choose to book in advance for an entire term or school year, or book on a casual basis.
We will do our best to assist parents who work casually or who work unpredictable or flexible hours. But we can only guarantee care if the booking is received five working days before the attendance is required.
For more information, please refer to the enrolment procedure.
How much does Jabiru Kids cost?
The fees that you pay will depend on your personal Child Care Benefit (CCB) entitlement. For a quote, please ask your Program Site Manager or contact Jabiru’s administrative team.
What is the 50% child care rebate, and how do I apply for it?
The Child Care Rebate assists parents or guardians who are working, studying or training with their out of pocket child care costs. For more information regarding the tax rebate, please visit the Department for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations website, or the Enrolment and Bookings section on our website.
What is the Child Care Benefit, and how can I apply for it?
Most families using our Outside School Hours Care will receive Child Care Benefit (CCB), which is a government payment to assist with the costs of your child care. Rules about CCB are made by the Commonwealth Government and cannot be changed by Jabiru.
All parents who are working, looking for work, training or studying, are usually entitled to 50 hours of CCB a week. Others are entitled to 24 hours a week.
Currently, the amount the government will pay is your allocated percentage of $3.60 per hour of service, depending on your means test and the number of children you have using childcare services.
Please understand that even a person on 100% CCB will have to pay the gap between our fee and the amount of CCB, because all our services cost more than the hourly amount set by the government.
If you have not previously registered for CCB and you are not currently receiving Family Tax Benefits (the Family Payment), you will need to complete a written claim for CCB (available from the Family Assistance Office).
If you currently receive Family Tax Benefits, you can register for CCB by phone. To do this you will need:
For more information regarding CCB, please visit the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations website, or the Enrollment and Bookings section on our website. (link)

The Code of Behaviour is placed in a clear position where everyone can see it. For more information, please contact your Program Site Manager.
