Selected Jabiru Kids centres offer vacation programs during the school holidays, and on pupil free days and teacher strike days.

Vacation programs are available for children in Prep to Year 7.

Breakfast is available until 8.00am each day, at no extra cost. A light afternoon tea is served at around 4.30pm, at no extra cost.

Our exciting vacation programs involve activities that are designed to suit children of all ages. The program involves days at the centre and excursion days. Excursions involve all children, and the sites are closed while the children are away.

What to bring

  • Bring a broad-brimmed hat or legionnaires cap and sun-protective clothing. We will not accept children into the program without the right hat.
  • Bring 30+ sunscreen, and apply sunscreen before leaving home.
  • Bring a plastic or metal cup with the child’s name on it (or a water bottle). We have water dispensing units at each centre.
  • Bring morning tea and afternoon tea. Although we provide an afternoon tea snack, it is not until around 4.30pm.
  • Bring lunch. Even on days when lunch is included as part of the program, please pack a lunch for your child to supplement what we provide.

Please do not bring any sports equipment, cash, toys (including iPods), electronic games, or mobile phones to our vacation program. Staff cannot take responsibility for your child’s possessions.

Operating hours and days
Vacation programs operate on most non-school days from Monday to Friday
Vacation programs operate from 6.30am until 6.00pm
Children should be dropped off before 9.00am, and collected after 4.00pm

Vacation programs are available during all school holidays except for the Christmas  New Year week. Vacation programs are also available on student free days, the schools exhibition holiday in August, and on teacher strike days. Vacation programs are not available on public holidays.

The opening of our vacation services is always subject to a minimum average attendance of 20 children at each site.

Please make sure that you sign your child in and out each day.

The operation of vacation programs is subject to a minimum average attendance of 20 children at each site. A vacation program may be cancelled with seven days’ notice, if booked attendances fall below an average attendance of 20 children a day.
